It's quite tough operating under such conditions and for the Govt not introduce tax rebates and holidays ( or whatever jargon they may want to use). That's why we need to get our voices now and start speaking to each and every concerned party.
It's a really competitive world out there and we can't start putting up better measures for our industry, I don't think we ought to be in business then.
Thanks again and keep bloggingSportsKenyahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03022178132328358557noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-60835327153699662.post-54788844221564257342008-03-28T09:31:00.000+03:002008-03-28T09:31:00.000+03:00Hi TM, interesting, I did a similar post on my blo...Hi TM, interesting, I did a similar post on my blog just after yours. I also do not believe corporates are doing enough for sport in this country. The Government also does not help much in that there is no incentive for the corporates. Some countries allow corporates to take a certain percentage directly off their taxation bottom line and use it to fund sports. But with our tax-hungry government, no such luck soon.Old Faithfulhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11699016301478508933noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-60835327153699662.post-34390103759531581382008-03-27T17:56:00.000+03:002008-03-27T17:56:00.000+03:00Thanks Anon,It's true when there is competition in...Thanks Anon,
It's true when there is competition in the scene, life's always interesting !
I have been watching the GTV & Supersport supremacy wars and let's hope this continues to help the sports enthusiasts and players in the market.
About the statement, well it's just one of those inspired moments. I'm learning how to work these things under intense pressure. Guess the world been that fast now ! I always see it like corporates think its such a huge favor they are doing to sportsmen in this country but I think it can only last for so long. Take the example of the rivalry between GTV and Multichoice. DSTV has been here longer than I can remember but they have never bothered doing any CSR until GTV came along and took over CECAFA, now look at the scramble they are putting up trying to woo the middle class earners.
Sooner or later some corporates(e.g Virgin) will come along and sportsmen will be treated like the heroes and means to an end that they are. Its not a very long wait.
I love you last statement, did u come up with that? u should patent it.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
